Matt Bergman has been performing at clubs and colleges since he was in college pursuing a degree in criminal justice. After graduating, he realized he was afraid of criminals and decided stand up comedy was the way to go. Since then he has become one of the most sought after comedians in the country.
He has been the opening act for big name talent such as Dave Attell,Jeffrey Ross, Bill Burr, and Jon Lovitz. In 2007 he was asked to open for Mike Birbiglia on a leg of his Comedy Central Live Tour, which included stops in SC, NC, and VA.
Since then he has toured non-stop across the United States and Canada and recently filmed his first comedy special for Bite TV in Toronto in June 2009. He is a favorite amongst club owners and audiences alike with his sarcastic style and absurd observations.

Stand-Up Workshops
Classes taught by Marc Sinodinos and Larry Smith
Cost $125 per person
The House of Comedy offers workshops in stand-up comedy that cover all aspects of writing and performance. There is a complete analysis of each students’ particular style followed by a list of structured suggestions on the best methods of :
- Getting comfortable behind the microphone
- Writing to suit your personality
- Using movement and gesture effectively
- Dealing with all types of crowds (and hecklers!)
- Getting past writing blocks
- Benefiting from the sound(s) and range of your voice
The House of Comedy stand-up workshops involve small groups of people (max 10) in order to maximize the benefits of one-on-one instruction. Students can be at any skill level, from beginners who have never been on stage before to veteran comedians who are looking to sharpen skills and freshen up their act. These workshops and fun, informative and full of valuable insights into how to get on stage and make people laugh. Great for:
- Actors
- Presenters
- Aspiring Comedians
- Teachers
- Anyone looking for a fun and interesting challenge!

The cost of the class is $125 which covers the cost of tuition and materials.
Registration will be limited to the first
10 students.
The comedy classes will be held at The House of Comedy Club
on the following evenings from 7 to 9 PM.
